Modello in Metrotown

Gateway to Art

Boffo’s innovative, creative spirit has never been more apparent than at Modello, a head-turning modern tower at Beresford and Willingdon, just two blocks away from our multi-award-winning Jewel towers. We are very proud to set the tone for the City of Burnaby’s progressive plans for the Metrotown area by building this landmark entry point to their new art walk community. A plaza on the corner will showcase a public art piece, and with Beresford dedicated to be the neighbourhood pedestrian friendly “High Street” as part of the area plan, Modello will offer a distinctive sense of place with its unique blend of retail, gallery, commercial and office space.

Urban Design Excellence

Designed by Chris Dikeakos Architects, this elegant building is scheduled to launch this autumn: a 37-storey skyrise with 170 high-end residences (ranging from 623 – 1,706 sqft) emerging from a 4-storey podium base, which will present a 60 foot streetwall along Beresford as well as Willingdon Avenue.

A covered breezeway connects Beresford with the residential and office lobbies.  There is provision for cafes and restaurants – including a proposed wine bar with an outside patio.  We envision visitors to the community stopping to enjoy a glass of wine at the Modello wine bar before or after touring the art walk—a fascinating and sophisticated new component to the neighbourhood!
